Find out about Black Heroes - and choose your Hero to write about!

There are three parts to the competition:

A photo-gallery of famous Black Heroes.

  • You have to click on the pictures to link to a web-site where you can find out who they are, and more about them.
  • Then answer these questions for each of the Heroes.

Who is your Black Hero?

  • Choose one person whom you admire. This might be somoeone living, or someone from history. They don't have to be famous, but they will be someone who has inspired you by their words or actions. They could be:
 

Someone famous

Someone from your local community

A family member

A friend, a teacher, a member of the Church

  • Find out as much as you can about them, and compile a profile on them. Include photos.

Search the My Hero website, to see if your hero is featured, or follow the links to useful websites on the irespect Black History Month page.

Your competition answers and 'My Black Hero' profile should be sent to the irespect website, where they will be published online as part of Black History Month celebrations. The best entry will win a £30.00 gift voucher.

Closing Date: October 31st 2004

All entries should be clearly marked with your Name, Age, Year and School.
