| AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To raise awareness and celebrate different Traveller cultures and histories. |

DESCRIPTION OF LESSON / ACTIVITY:
To celebrate Gypsy Roma and Traveller History month, the Traveller Education Team worked with school staff to provide an all-day, whole school activity day about Travellers (see attached plan). The day included a morning and afternoon assembly, literacy, cooking, D.T. art, history, I.T. and music. Relevant artefacts can be borrowed from the John Moore Museum in Tewkesbury (we can also arrange this) and the resources used, photo displays, big book and other books and stories about Travellers can be borrowed from the Traveller Education Team. We are happy to work with schools who wish to wish to provide a similar day for their pupils, which would be tailored to suit your particular needs. You may want us to run the day for you, borrow resources or just have some advice. To avoid disappointment, please give us as much notice as possible as this has proved to be a very popular event. You can contact us at the Hucclecote Centre, (01452) 427262
