Toys

A year 5 pupil writes about an investigation into toys made by the children in Kigulya and brought back to Britain by Mary Jeans : -

“….There were different toys: helicopters, trucks, dolls, a ball, dolls and bikes.   Someone called Denis made a special helicopter for Mrs jeans to take home to remember him by….

“….(Mrs Jeans) showed us pictures of all of her African friends making toys and playing games.   They even made dancing clothes out of banana leaves.   What I think about the toys, I think they are brilliant.   I'm surprised   that anyone could be so creative to invent things out of flip-flops, banana leaves, plastic carrier bags and banana fibre.”
