Cathy Nelson's Year 3/4 Class at Fairford Primary have been widening their horizons!
As part of their geography work, on a school in a contrasting area, they teamed up with Widden Primary, Gloucester. The children gained far more than they had anticipated from the exchange visits, over and above an understanding of the difference between a rural and urban setting ... They had a unique experience of meeting children from a different culture and religion, and were fascinated by what they learnt about Islam, at first hand, from the Widden Muslim pupils. But best of all, they rapidly made new friends!!!
Both schools are also engaged in the "Gardening for Life" project - and have further widened horizons through links with schools in Kenya, and can share their contrasting experiences of growing food for the school kitchens!
