Primary Traveller Pupils Become Teachers for a Morning!
Traveller pupils at Beech Green School swapped places with their teachers for a morning last term. They put together a display on Stow Fair, a Gypsy Horse Fair that is held twice a year. They then acted as guides to the whole class who visited the display in small groups. Many questions were asked and answered by the young people. The two biggest attractions were the pictures of the inside of Old Wagons and of the horses. The Traveller pupils enjoyed sharing something of their culture. The Non-Traveller pupils enjoyed finding out something new and for some, realising they had an interest in common - HORSES!
