GCSE Community Language Results 2006
As part of an initiative to encourage students to take GCSE exams in their own languages I and several colleagues spent some time visiting schools and talking to students and teachers, trying to find suitable oral examiners for these exams and where appropriate, giving some practice oral and other tests using previous years' GCSE papers.
The results below are not complete, but it can be seen that the candidates produced some excellent results!

| Archway | Russian | A* A |
| Beaufort | Portuguese | A |
| Brockworth | Farsi | A* |
| Polish | A* A* C |
| Central Technology College | Urdu | D |
| Oxstalls | Urdu | A* |
| Pittville | Bengali | A* A* |

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to all those involved, especially those I roped in to act as oral examiners. They were in certain cases, more nervous than the candidates!
