Visit to Poland

Two members of the Primary EMA team went to Poznan in North Eastern Poland during May half term. The link was arranged through Lynworth Primary School in Cheltenham with one of the partner schools in their Comenius project. The aim was to experience Polish education first hand in order to develop our understanding of the needs of children arriving in our schools. We were able to visit a Kindergarten, a Primary and a Secondary school. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our hosts who made time to show us round and answer our questions. We were able to see classes in action and join in English sessions with the older children. Our interpreter Kate guided us round the city and gave us an insight into life in Poland today.

Lynworth Primary has recently heard that the Comenius project has been accepted so we are hoping to welcome Kate and her colleagues to Gloucestershire in the near future.
