Children's Tent at Stow Fair
Despite the foul weather earlier in the week, the day of the Fair dawned to brilliant sunshine!
This year's tent had a "Healthy Living" theme and we shared the space with local Health Visitors, a District Nurse and a member of the "5-A-Day" team.
It was enormously successful. More than 300 children joined in the activities, which included working with a local artist, badge-making and designing and making their own sun hats. Every child received a free piece of fruit and 100 children took away workpacks provided by the Traveller Education team.
Children from Stow Primary School joined us and worked with the visiting Traveller children, all of them completely engaged in their creative activities. Many thanks to Stow Primary for all their help!
The Health Advice table was also extremely popular: many parents and grandparents took advantage of having a blood pressure check and friendly advice from the Health team. We hope to continue this multi-agency approach next year.
