We are delighted to welcome Bishop's College, and their school coordinators, Clayton Gardiner and Kelly Bogan, to The Fishpool Project.
It is with some sadness that we say goodbye to Kash Allen from Brockworth Enterprise School. Kash has been a leading light in the Fishpool project and has engaged enthusiastically as a school coordinator. He is a well-respected, popular figure and has done much to improve the awareness of Black issues as well as encouraging his students. We wish him all success in his new post.
We also bid a fond farewell to Mel Jones, the Fishpool coordinator at Churchdown School. Again, Mel has worked with enthusiasm and originality and although she will be missed at Churchdown, we look forward to continuing working with her in her new role at Barnwood Park School.
Thank you both so much for all you have achieved and all you have worked towards achieving!
Each school in the Fishpool project has again approached their overall objectives in very different ways. What they do share in common however is their desire to improve performance, celebrate individuals and their culture and respond to the needs of the pupils, parents and the community.
To mention just a few of the things that has been happening:
Severn Vale and Churchdown have organised 'meet the parents' evenings and guest speaker sessions in each of their schools. Severn Vale will soon be hosting its biannual Caribbean celebration - always an exciting, enjoyable evening. Don't miss it!
Brockworth Fishpool students had a fabulous day in Birmingham at The Clothes Show with Haltia and Tony Francis from Youth and Community.
Some of the Fishpool schools took their students to the Everyman to listen to Benjamin Zephaniah.
