MFL at Newent Community School

At a recent EAL training session given by READS secondary team members to Newent staff, with a focus on New Arrivals and in particular, differentiation across subject areas, we were delighted to see some of the work already going on in the school. We were particularly excited with some innovative work being produced and put into good practice by the MFL Department at Newent Community School.

All credit must be given to them for their inspiring work, particularly to Gerry Judd, who has utilised his ICT and MFL skills, to produce an excellent interactive website resource for Polish pupils.

The site includes visual and audio material for learning vocabulary and phrases, and a wide range of interactive games and flashcards to test yourself in a fun way!

Zdravie, our Bulgarian member of staff is now going to work with Gerry and produce similar materials in Bulgarian, and Gerry will be adding school subject material in collaboration with the rest of the school.

The Department are willing to share this resource with other schools and will also link to our irespect website.

Thank you and Well Done!

Dee, Sheilagh and Zdravie
