Polish Family Event in Cheltenham
Gloucestershire Police organised a morning for Polish families at the Hardwicke Campus of the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham on Saturday November 17th. This was a follow up to a similar successful event in February. There were representatives from many Gloucestershire agencies who were able to offer advice and support, including translated leaflets on eg Road Safety and Safety in the Workplace.
The Fire Service brought along a fire engine and a selection of delicious Polish food was served. Some brave members of the READS team had fun taking part in a street dancing session alongside a group of enthusiastic and agile youngsters.
Not as many Polish families as hoped for came along but those who did were made very welcome and had a good time. One family battled through the Race Meeting traffic to get there from Bourton and others came from across Cheltenham.
There was an opportunity to meet the Chief Constable Dr Timothy Brain, the Mayor of Cheltenham and other local dignitaries who visited during the morning.
