World Peace Day at Cirencester Deer Park

World Peace Day at Cirencester Deer Park School was held on Thursday 20th October. The entire school participated in the event for the day, with a special focus on all our EAL pupils who worked together as a unit.

Pupils from Thailand, China, The Philippines, Poland, Bangladesh, Kenya and Zambia came together to produce a cultural day with an accent on peace. Flags, clothes, music and videos were displayed at each table while the pupils offered crash courses to Year 8 pupils in language and customs. Pupils learned to write their names in Chinese characters, as well as greetings in many different languages.

Food was also a focus with many dishes being sampled, with the most popular event possibly being a display and lesson in African dance. It was wonderful to see so many cultures coming together to enjoy each other's company and be such ambassadors of PEACE.
