A 'Turkish Delight-ful' Afternoon
On a warm, sunny afternoon in May, three Turkish youngsters met together at Severnbanks Primary School, Lydney. Ethem, a Year 8 New Arrival at Katharine Lady Berkeley School in Wotton-under-Edge had previously been corresponding via email with Sultan and Nurullah, both pupils at Severnbanks, in Years 5 and 6 respectively. which comprise some seven acres (including an environmental area) and played several rounds of Pictionary whilst consuming a large number of sweets! A memorable time was had by all and new and hopefully, lasting friendships were forged. The eighty mile 'round trip' was certainly worth it!
With thanks to the staff at Severnbanks Primary School and to Clare Brindley for their help in making this visit possible.
