Babar Vaqas is currently completing his final year of study in medicine at Oxford University. A pupil of Thomas Rich's School in Gloucester, he got off to a good start educationally by gaining an amazing ten A* grades in his GCSEs.

 

 

 

 

Babar, from Gloucester, was born in Britain and follows in the footsteps of his Pakistani-born parents, both of whom hold degrees. His mother, Nasreen Akhtar, is senior librarian with Gloucestershire County Council and his father, Munawar Hussain, holds a senior post with Bristol City Council.

 

Currently working in New York and China after winning a study award from the British Medical Council, Babar intends to take up a position at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
