Understanding Slavery: The Big Conversation 2007

To mark the bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act in the British Empire, the DfES and Understanding Slavery are launching an important learning resource and national competition.

This will be an inspiring opportunity for Key Stage 3 students to explore many of the complex issues surrounding the legacies of the transatlantic slave trade through museum collections.

A new digital-learning resource and printed pack will offer schools the opportunity to include the subject in Citizenship, and other subjects such as History, and to enter the resulting work produced by students into an exciting national competition.

To take part, register by email: enquiries@thebigconversation2007.com or by phone: 0844 8002620, and get a free copy of the printed pack and information on 'The Big Conversation 2007'.
