The NEW ninth issue for Spring 2010 is now  available for download.

The Spring 2010 issue is 32 pages and has a special focus on the theme of 'Advanced Bilingual Learners'. It contains articles and resources to support schools.

The latest National Strategy for Secondary Schools 'Ensuring the attainment of more advanced learners of English as an additional language' and the plan to introduce it to schools is explained, and the successses of some past advanced pupils are celebrated. Also included is a wide range of other articles of interest to schools, including news from schools and reviews of resources.

The Spring 2009 issue is 28 pages and has a special focus on the theme of 'Gypsy, Roma, Traveller'. It contains articles and resources to support schools.

This is timely, following on from the celebration of the first UK Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month in June 2008, and with the arrival of the National Strategy’s GRT Project into Gloucestershire this September last.

For many of us the arrival of so many children & young people from Poland in the past two years has been a joy and a challenge. There are now about 400 Polish pupils in the county’s schools. This issue of the newsletter provides information and resources for schools to suport these new arrivals from Poland, as well as a range of other information on the work of READS.

The second issue of the Race Equality Newsletter for Schools is now available for download. The summer 2004 edition is 48 pages long and has a special focus on refugees. It also covers a wide range of other race equality issues and projects of interest to schools in the county.
