INTRODUCTION

This section is initially designed for KS3 and contains 3 lessons and 3 weeks of homework. There is also a STOP PRESS section based on recent news related to ageism.

FOR STARTERS

• Warm Up - A look at some true life stories of older people and some questions about "generations".

THE LESSONS

Now let us start to look at the different generations and see whether people suffer from any discrimination because of their age. If we wish to eliminate discrimination from our society, we must make sure that we stop discrimination because of age – we all age, don’t we?

• Lesson 1 - Based on Shakespeare's seven ages of man.
  Includes follow on homework.
• Lesson 2 - Thinking about overcoming age discrimination.
  Includes a two week homework.
• Lesson 3 - Word associations and connotations of the word OLD.
