GROUP G Will study the life of Ehsan-ul-Haq

First read the life story of Ehsan-ul-Haq (p104–115)

(a) On what day was his father killed in a train accident?

(b) Research – What was “Partition”? When and why did it happen? What were the consequences?

(c) Who was Mohammed Saadiq?

(d) How do you think that Ehsan’s uncle knew that Ehsan was telling a fib?

(e) What was Ehsan’s punishment?

(f) How do you think that children should be brought up to ensure that they do not lie?

(g) How did Ehsan’s uncle know so much if he could not read or write?

(h) Would you describe Ehsan as an educated person?

(i) Why did Ehsan come to England?

(j) Give 4 reasons as to why Ehsan found his 1965 arrival in England a bit of a shock.

(k) Ehsan had studied Shakespeare and English Literature – but that was no help for what?

(l) List 6 ways in which Ehsan helped his community (p109–110).

(m) Was the arranged marriage a good one for Ehsan? Explain as fully as you can

(n) How did Ehsan end up in Gloucestershire?

(o) Now study p111 to the 2nd paragraph on page 114 and write a CV to show Ehsan’s achievements. (Ask your teacher for guidance in constructing a CV).

(p) Now design a spider diagram after studying p114–115. The central box will be:
