Local Gloucestershire events to commemorate the bicentenary of the Abolition of Slavery Act are co-ordinated by the Gloucestershire Set All Free initiative, set up by Churches Together in Gloucester and other organisations to mark the bicentenary. The aims of Set All Free are to remember the horrors of slavery, reflect on the consequences, such as racism, respond, by taking action to end modern forms of slavery and to create a legacy to leave for the future. They have produced a booklet to provide information on a wide and varied range of events happening during the year in Gloucestershire to commemorate the Act. A draft of this booklet can be downloaded here.
